The Monday before the final review my good friend George from Canadia had a spare ticket to see the Sam Roberts Band (also from Canadia) at the Bowery Ballroom.

It was a great concert; it was especially fun watching George get as excited as a 16-year-old girl at an Elvis concert.

Following the show we met up with long-time U of M friends at the "posh" Hudson Hotel designed by Philippe Starck.

Dear Randall, It's good to see new material on your blog. The most recent picture reminds me of the ones I took at the Beaux Art Ball at the U of M, eh? I'm unsure as to how many 16 year old girls are Elvis fans. We are looking forward to seeing you soon. Your Mom and I brought home a Christmas tree today. Where is the Bowery Ballrom? Is it big/old? Love, Dad

Hi Dad, yeah I thought of those photos of the Ball at the U of M. There were a few more Canadians here though.

I don't think any 16 year-old girls are Elvis fans now, but I think I've seen footage of girls fainting at the sight of him back in the day.

The Bowery is pretty old. I don't know much about it. It's rather small but has a mezzanine, 3 floors total each with a bar. On the mezzanine the bar is in a big, arched window like you'd find in a Louis Sullivan building.

I'm looking forward to coming home too. I'll help decorate the tree when I'm there if there's still the opportunity. You can put the ornament I sent you on there.

Love,
